Optical Assistant job in Wandsworth

Inspired Recruitment Group is delighted to be working with a well-established family run optical practice in Wandsworth that is looking to recruit an experienced Optical Consultant to join their friendly and professional team. The Practice

This modern practice underwent a complete refit in Summer 2025 and offers a bright, contemporary working environment. The practice benefits from two testing rooms, six-day testing, and a strong clinical focus, supported by a resident Optometrist and regular locum cover. The team consists of approximately 5-6 members of staff on the shop floor, with everyone contributing to the smooth running of the practice through dispensing, pre-screening, and patient support. Team members also develop individual areas of responsibility, including contact lenses, NHS administration, lab oversight, ordering spectacles, and managing outstanding jobs. Additional facilities include dedicated storage areas, a meeting room, and an in-house lab used for edging and storage.

The Role

• Full-time position
• Monday to Saturday working pattern
• Practice opening hours: 9:00am - 5:30pm
• Saturday work is essential
• Salary up to £28,000 depending on experience
• Dispensing and advising patients on suitable eyewear
• Carrying out pre-screening and supporting clinics
• Assisting with day-to-day practice operations
• Delivering exceptional levels of customer service
• Supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive team environment

• An experienced Optical Consultant or Optical Assistant - 12-months minimum
• Reliable and dependable in their approach to work

• A genuine team player who is always willing to support colleagues
• Adaptable and capable of working in different situations throughout the day
• Friendly and approachable with patients and colleagues alike
