We're currently recruiting for an experienced Optical Assistant / Dispensing Assistant to join a well-established independent optical practice with a long-standing reputation for outstanding patient care and premium eyewear. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity within a beautifully refurbished, boutique-style practice offering a modern and welcoming environment, excellent clinical standards, and a genuinely supportive team culture.

The Role
This is a varied role where you'll play a key part in the patient journey, working closely alongside Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians to deliver an exceptional level of service and care. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting patients with frame styling and lens recommendations
- Taking accurate measurements and supporting the dispensing process
- Providing a warm, professional, and personalised patient experience
- Supporting with spectacle adjustments, fittings, and minor repairs
- Managing spectacle orders and liaising with suppliers where required
- Maintaining accurate patient records and handling administration duties
- Supporting the wider practice team with day-to-day operations
- Ensuring the practice always looks professional and welcoming
What We're Looking For
- Previous optical dispensing experience is essential
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Someone organised, proactive, and confident in a busy environment
- A team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Comfortable using IT systems and adapting to evolving ways of working
- Level 3 Optical Assistant qualification would be advantageous
