The Opportunity
We're working with a well-established practice group looking for an Optical Dispensing & Hearing Care Assistant to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a mobile role across Hampshire, so you'll be working between different practices and supporting patients across both optical and hearing care. The role would suit someone who enjoys variety, is confident with patients and is keen to learn new skills, with training and development provided.
The Role
- Helping patients choose frames and advising on lenses
- Taking accurate dispensing measurements
- Processing and checking spectacle orders, including focimetry
- Fitting, adjusting and carrying out minor spectacle repairs
- Supporting pre-screening and general practice administration
- Supporting the hearing care patient journey
- Training towards and carrying out microsuction ear wax removal
- Assisting with hearing aid fittings, basic repairs and troubleshooting
- Maintaining accurate patient records and clinical documentation
- Referring patients to the Audiologist where appropriate
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, equipment and stock
About You
You'll need previous spectacle dispensing experience and a genuine passion for providing excellent patient care. We're looking for someone who is:
- Confident and comfortable dealing with patients
- Adaptable and happy working across different Hampshire practices
- Organised with good IT skills
- Enthusiastic and keen to learn
- Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team
- A good communicator who takes pride in delivering excellent service
An HCA qualification, microsuction or tympanometry experience would be beneficial, although training can be provided for the right person. A full UK driving licence and access to a reliable car are essential due to the mobile nature of the role.

- 26,500 - 29,000, depending on experience
