At Inspired Recruitment Group, we understand that considering a new opportunity can feel like a big step. That's why every conversation is handled with care, confidentiality and absolutely no pressure.
I'm currently working with a busy, established high-street optical multiple in Buckinghamshire looking for an experienced optical professional to join their team as an Assistant Manager. This could be a great opportunity for an experienced Optical Assistant who has naturally started taking on more responsibility and is ready to make that next step into management.
The Opportunity
You'll be working closely with the Practice Manager, helping with the day-to-day running of the practice while remaining hands-on with patients and the wider team. They're looking for someone who can lead from the front - approachable and supportive with colleagues, confident with patients and comfortable within a busy commercial optical environment.
Previous management experience would certainly be beneficial, but they're equally interested in someone with the right attitude, optical knowledge and leadership potential who is ready to progress.
The Role
- Supporting the Practice Manager with the day-to-day running of the practice
- Helping motivate, support and develop the wider team
- Dispensing and providing advice on frames and lenses
- Delivering excellent patient care and customer service
- Supporting with targets, KPIs and overall practice performance
- Helping maintain high standards across the practice
- Handling patient queries and resolving issues where needed
- Stepping up and taking responsibility in the Practice Manager's absence
About You
This could suit someone who is already an Assistant Manager or an experienced Optical Assistant looking for their first real opportunity to progress. You'll ideally be:
- Experienced within an optical practice
- Confident with dispensing and the patient journey
- A natural people person with good leadership qualities
- Organised, reliable and comfortable taking responsibility
- Commercially aware and confident working towards targets
- Supportive and able to bring the best out of a team
- Comfortable within a busy high-street environment
- Keen to continue developing your management career
Hours & Package
The role offers:
- Salary circa 30,000, depending on experience
- Full-time, permanent position
- 5 days per week
- Weekend working included
- Established high-street optical environment
- Opportunity to develop your management experience
- Support from an experienced wider team
- Genuine scope to progress your optical career
Why Consider It?
If you've reached the stage where you want more responsibility and progression, but still enjoy being hands-on with patients and optics, this could offer a really nice balance. It's an opportunity to build on your existing experience, develop your leadership skills and become an important part of the management team within an established practice.
