The Role Overview
We're working with a well-established, independent optical practice in the Hampshire area that is looking to welcome a dedicated Optometrist to their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a patient-focused environment where clinical excellence and personalised care are at the heart of everything they do. You'll play a key role in delivering outstanding eye care services, ensuring patients receive the highest standard of clinical attention and advice to support their long-term eye health.
The Practice
This independent practice has built a strong reputation within the local community for its high standards of care and investment in modern optical technology. With a collaborative and supportive team in place, you'll be joining a business that truly values both its patients and its people.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and contact lens appointments
- Offer specialist services such as dry eye clinics where required
- Provide clear, patient-focused recommendations based on clinical findings
- Ensure full compliance with General Optical Council (GOC) regulations
- Maintain accurate, detailed patient records in line with legal standards
- Work closely with Dispensing Opticians and support staff to deliver a seamless patient journey
- Utilise advanced diagnostic equipment such as OCT, fundus cameras, tonometry, and visual fields
- Promote eye health awareness and preventative care advice
- Participate in clinical governance and quality assurance processes
- Contribute to practice growth through excellent patient care and communication
Requirements
- BSc (Hons) Optometry or equivalent
- Fully qualified and GOC registered Optometrist
- Previous experience within a community practice setting
- Additional accreditations such as GRR or Post Cataract (advantageous)

Salary & Benefits
- Competitive salary of up to 70,000 (depending on experience)
