We're working with a well-established independent practice in the Surrey area that's looking for a confident Dispensing Optician to join their experienced team. This is a proper independent environment - focused on patient care, quality dispensing, and doing the job properly rather than rushing people through like a supermarket checkout.
The Role
This is a hands-on dispensing role where you'll be a key link between the consulting room and the patient journey. You'll be responsible for:
- Delivering first-class patient care with a friendly, professional manner
- Supporting patients through frame selection and lens recommendations
- Taking accurate measurements and ensuring the best possible fit
- Managing spectacle orders and liaising with suppliers when needed
- Carrying out quality checks, fittings, and minor repairs
- Supporting and guiding Optical Assistants when required
- Taking part in smooth handovers from the Optometrist to dispensing
- Maintaining accurate patient records and handling admin tasks properly
- Dealing with patient queries or concerns in a calm, professional way
- Keeping displays tidy, organised, and looking the part
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Dispensing Optician (Level 6 Diploma in Ophthalmic Dispensing)
- Solid dispensing experience with confidence in patient care
- Strong communication skills and a professional approach
- Someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a team
- Comfortable using IT systems and keeping records up to date
