About the Role
An established group of independent optometric practices is seeking a full-time Dispensing Assistant to join their team. Based in their Bexleyheath practice, you will support the day-to-day operations of a busy, patient-focused environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous optical dispensing experience who is passionate about delivering high-quality care and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense a wide variety of lenses and frames tailored to individual patient needs
- Provide knowledgeable advice on frame styles, lens types, coatings, and accessories
- Deliver outstanding service to patients, ensuring a welcoming and professional experience
- Assist with inventory control and stock management
- Handle point-of-sale transactions, including cash and card payments
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient working environment
- Collaborate effectively with optometrists, reception staff, and other team members
- Stay informed on the latest product ranges and optical technologies
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in optical dispensing is essential
- Strong product knowledge of lenses, frames, and associated services
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven customer service abilities in a fast-paced setting
- Confident in handling cash and managing stock
- Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Willingness to travel between practices
