This role is home based with travel to our Kirkham (Lancashire) office and sites required. Role and ResponsibilitiesInspired's Water Audit team identifies opportunities to reduce clients' ongoing water and wastewater costs and recover historic overcharges. The Water Audit Consultant will be responsible for analysing non-household customer sites, water and wastewater bills, consumption data and charging structures to identify potential refunds, cost reductions and consumption savings.The role combines detailed desktop analysis with practical site investigation. Once an opportunity has been identified, you will assess its commercial viability, taking account of the potential historic refund, future saving, agreed participation period and share-of-saving arrangements. Where further evidence is required, you will report the opportunity to the client and undertake site investigations to verify the circumstances and build the supporting evidence required.Your objective is to progress opportunities from initial identification through to a robust, verified and clearly documented position, ready for claim submission and progression by other members of the Water Audit team.The successful candidate will be required to: Analyse non-household water and wastewater bills, tariffs, wholesaler charging structures, consumption data and customer site information to identify potential refunds and ongoing savings.Investigate opportunities including incorrect tariffs or charges, surface water drainage, highway drainage, return-to-sewer allowances, trade effluent, meter and consumption anomalies, leakage, wastage and other wholesaler-specific charging arrangements.Assess the commercial viability of identified opportunities, including potential historical recovery, future savings, participation periods and contractual share-of-saving arrangements.Prioritise opportunities based on potential client benefit, recoverable value, likelihood of successful validation and the work required to progress them.Produce clear calculations and maintain an appropriate evidence trail supporting each identified opportunity.Communicate findings internally and, where required, present opportunities and recommended investigations clearly to clients.Undertake site surveys throughout the UK to verify identified opportunities and gather supporting evidence.Carry out practical investigations including meter inspections, drop tests, surface water drainage assessments, dye testing and visual investigations of leakage and wastage where appropriate.Produce clear site reports, supporting calculations, photographs and other evidence so that validated opportunities are ready for formal submission or progression by other members of the Water Audit team.Maintain accurate records of opportunities, investigations, savings and progress within the company's CRM and reporting systems.Provide technical support to colleagues across Inspired on non-household water charging and water audit matters.Read and comply with the company Health & Safety Policy; taking reasonable care for the Health & Safety of themselves and others; co-operate with managers and other employees in fulfilling our objectives and statutory duties.Qualifications and Experience RequirementsEssential:Full UK driving license and willingness to travel regularly throughout the UK, including overnight stays where required.Strong analytical skills with the ability to review detailed billing, tariff, consumption and customer data and identify discrepancies or opportunities.Comfortable undertaking practical investigations at customer sites.Desirable:Experience working within a water retailer, wholesaler, water consultancy, utility bill validation or cost-recovery environment.What we offerTraining and development opportunitiesCompany pensionLife insuranceEnhanced maternity and paternityBenefits portal, with a wide range of benefits4pm finish on FridayIf you are interested in the role and would like to be considered, please apply now and a member of our In House Recruitment Team will be in touch.
