This role is ideally suited to a career-minded, ambitious individual who is looking for that unique opportunity to prove what they can do and then be rewarded for it. We are looking for an Account Manager to join our successful Estate Intensive team. This role is a Home Based role with some occasional travel to the office required.
Role and Responsibilities
- The Estate Intensive team are looking for an experienced Account Manager to take responsibility for ensuring their client portfolio receives the maximum available commercial and operational value from the solutions provided.
- You will take ownership of the client experience and for building long-term relationships with clients, which support retention and growth by acting as the trusted advisor to the client.
The successful candidate's responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Client Relationship Management
- Serve as a knowledgeable and responsible main point of contact for allocated clients.
- Develop and maintain trusted relationships with multiple stakeholders at different levels of seniority for each account.
- Develop a complete and clear understanding of the needs of their clients.
- Be your client's voice internally and engage with internal teams to ensure contracted client needs are met in a timely manner and resolve any issues which arise.
- Continual management and maintenance of CRM records.
- Commercial
- Deliver on challenging financial targets based on retention and business development opportunities.
- Proactively identify and manage a pipeline of retention and business development opportunities of a nominated set of clients through the delivery of bespoke account management strategies and activities to meet the individual needs of those clients.
- Understand the range of services offered and how these may form solutions addressing client needs.
- Organise and deliver presentations and performance updates to clients to support retention and accelerate business development opportunities.
- Provide insight to commercial services teams (i.e. Bids/Proposals, Marketing, Sales) to enable clear and compelling value propositions and service schedules to be developed.
- To hold numerous contacts for 'References' and responsible for creating (with Marketing support) case studies from within your customer base.
- Technical
- Keep abreast of industry developments across energy procurement, commodity market conditions, net-zero carbon, regulatory changes, sustainability/ESG so that you can demonstrate credibility to clients and act as their trusted advisor.
- Support/prepare fixed and flexible tender proposals and recommendations and deliver actionable presentations based on a thorough understanding of the clients' needs.
- Support/responsible for the creation, implementation, and execution of risk management trading strategy on behalf of clients.
- Report market positions and news to clients.
Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of in-depth knowledge of the energy/utilities/sustainability services industry.
- Demonstrable experience of managing strategic customers with large flexible portfolios.
- IT literate with strong MS Office (particularly Excel), MS Outlook skills and used to CRM systems.
- Positive, professional, and focused work ethic and team player.
- Strong commercial awareness – able to identify and develop new opportunities.
- Active listening skills – able to show emotional intelligence.
- Timely, open and accurate communication.
- Strong time management discipline, able to multitask, prioritise multiple deadlines and manage requests across a number of different clients.
- Share constructive feedback appropriately.
- Full UK driving license and be able to and willing to travel across the UK to visit our clients in person.
- GCSEs (English and Maths).
- 1 year of account management/client relationship/business development experience.
- Demonstrable evidence of achieving financial targets.
- Professional sales/account management training.
- Higher level qualifications or educated to a degree level or equivalent.
