Overview
In this role you will lead end-to-end tender processes for energy supply and related contracts and negotiate favourable terms with suppliers. You will prepare clear recommendations to support contract awards and manage contract execution, ensuring compliance and accurate records. Working within the Procurement team, you’ll align supplier selections with customer needs and drive process improvements. This position offers remote work with regular office visits and exposure to energy markets in a leading, sustainability-focused company.

Responsibilities
- Run end-to-end tender processes (RFI/RFP/RFQ) from specification to award
- Gather and analyse pricing and supplier data to inform tender strategy
- Negotiate with suppliers on price, terms, and contract conditions
- Prepare clear, well-evidenced recommendations for contract awards
- Place contracts with suppliers after approval, ensuring terms, pricing and start dates are correct
- Maintain accurate records of tenders, negotiations and contract documentation
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to confirm requirements and ensure contracts meet customer needs
- Identify opportunities to improve tendering and contracting processes to reduce turnaround time and administrative effort
Key requirements
- Experience in a procurement, tendering, or category management role (preferably in energy or utilities)
- Proven ability to negotiate directly with suppliers on price and contract terms
- Experience writing structured recommendations to support commercial decisions
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in contract preparation
- Confident, professional communicator
- Strong written communication skills for reports and recommendations
- Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tenders/contracts to deadline
