Overview
As a PPA Originator within Inspired’s PPA Markets team, you lead origination, structuring and placement of short-term PPAs for generation clients, acting as the go-to expert on PPA trading. You will oversee data, settlement and regulatory processes, while collaborating with risk, optimization and account management to ensure robust, value-driven PPAs. This role supports growth targets and long-term revenue, helping clients meet energy and net-zero objectives. You’ll engage with renewables developers and counterparties to convert opportunities into contracts.

Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a commercially viable PPA pipeline aligned to growth targets
- Origination & Trading support for short-term PPA hedges and flexible trading
- Support development of new PPA products and half-hourly matching, placement and settlement
- Oversee generation data, metering and regulatory submissions across the PPA portfolio
- Maintain monthly PPA statement validations and resolve data/meters queries
- Support process improvements, including moving away from spreadsheet-based workflows
- Provide guidance to Account Managers on hedge structuring, pricing and placement options
- Lead commercial discussions to understand energy demand, risk appetite and sustainability goals
- Manage PPA tendering and competitive sourcing in line with internal frameworks
- Coordinate with internal teams and external counterparties; progress opportunities to full PPA execution
- Read and comply with Health & Safety policies and duties
Key requirements
- Experience of commercial contracts (selling and management) including understanding legal structure
- Track record influencing cross-functional delivery (Risk, AM, Analytics, Legal, Ops)
- Proven ability to deliver challenging financial targets and drive opportunities
- Knowledge of REGO’s and certification
- Understanding of shaping and balancing risks
- Confident, credible communicator and technical reference for internal teams and clients
- Strong Excel skills with large datasets
- Ability to prioritise origination and operational demands
- Decisive, calm under pressure with good judgement on escalation
- Clear communication of complex topics to clients and stakeholders
