We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to join our ESG department. This role is pivotal in driving the successful execution of ESG initiatives across the organisation, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, regulatory requirements, and stakeholder expectations.
This is a Home Based role with some occasional travel to the office required.
Role and Responsibilities
- Lead and manage ESG-related projects from initiation to completion, including sustainability programs, social impact initiatives, and governance improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ESG and project management principles into business operations.
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Prepare and present regular updates to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with relevant ESG regulations, standards, and reporting frameworks.
- Support the development of ESG reporting and disclosures, through project and cost management.
- Facilitate workshops and training sessions to promote awareness, understanding and implementation of project management.
- Forecasting of the QA Team’s workload, allocating forecasted work to team members, re-planning the forecasting and allocations due to unforeseen circumstances, balancing workload and calculating team capacity.
- Allocating work to team members when work is submitted for review at the different stage gates and communicating to the relevant teams the timelines for the review process.
- Updating the QA programme after each project stage gate has been completed, to provide a live status update of the delivery programme for all teams and ensuring that the associated booking request forms have been submitted accurately to prevent errors and data loss.
- Escalate delivery issues to the relevant manager and director to minimise delays and deliver client services on time and within budget.
- Collate monitoring, evaluation and learning data from each client deliverable and staff member monthly. This framework will input into 360 feedback, manage performance and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Collate project delivery and stage gate updates for monthly board meetings.
- Host daily meetings with the delivery team Managers, to support workload forecasting, minimise delays and escalations.
- Project manage the review of client deliverables using the Directorate’s software tools.
- Collate weekly management information on the status of deliverables, escalations and forecasting for the current and upcoming weeks.
- Generate monthly cost reports for reviewing client services, by analysing timesheets to ensure that projects operate within budget.
- Collate the team’s expenses and process associated invoices.
- Plan the ISO 9001 quarterly internal audit.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential:
- Degree in STEM discipline or equivalent.
- professional experience and qualification in Project Management (PRINCE 2, etc).
- Ability to process complex technical data and concepts into client-ready information.
- Advanced user of the Microsoft Office Suite, notably specialist in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to forecast workloads, meet client deadlines, prioritise, escalate potential risks, manage costs and understand financial implications.
- Four+ years of experience in project management in consultancy or analytical roles.
Desirable:
- Awareness of and interest in climate change mitigation, Net Zero strategies and the global / national policy drivers.
- Experience of environmental data.
- Two+ years of experience of project management in consultancy or analytical roles, focusing on ESG, carbon or broader environmental management (flexible for the right candidate).
