We are looking for experienced Shift Engineers with a strong Electrical bias to join our Engineering team at the Kinmel site.
This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy hands‑on fault finding, preventative maintenance, and driving equipment reliability within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Shift Details
£23.33 per hour plus shift allowance of £2.35 per hour, 42.9 hours per week, 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off shift pattern (12 hour shifts on rotation). Shift times:
- 05:45
- 06:00
Paid monthly on the last Friday of each month.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain safe, compliant and effective engineering operations that continuously develop the site’s asset base by following the Engineering strategy for proactive work whilst responding to breakdowns.
- Perform planned preventative and predictive maintenance across a range of mechanical equipment and complete breakdown repairs in a timely manner to minimise downtime.
- Carry out mechanical fault finding, repair and continuous improvement activities across production and site machinery.
- Support installation, commissioning and modification of mechanical systems and equipment.
- Assess the need for spares by ensuring that the critical spares and spares list is up to date and stock is at the required levels.
- Escalate any issues in a timely manner to the Engineering Manager.
- Ensure a safe environment by conducting all servicing and maintenance activities with minimal risk to employees, products and equipment – champion safety.
- Use root cause analysis on breakdowns to identify actions and drive completion of actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Support the energy reduction and sustainability agenda to reduce environmental impacts across the site by ensuring all actions are completed.
- Participate in daily and weekly review sessions to drive improvement throughout the site.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Qualified or time served in Electrical Engineering disciplines.
- Mechanical knowledge or multi‑skilled experience would be advantageous.
- Strong Electrical fault finding and maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in the use and operation of CMMS (Shire).
- Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
- NEBOSH with a sound knowledge of behavioural safety at a site level – desirable.
- Legionella and HACCP awareness – desirable.
- Experience in FMCG – desirable.
