Type: Permanent, Site-based
On Offer: £14.97 per hour (including shift allowance), 42 hours per week, 24/7 shift pattern – (2 days, 2 nights, 4 days off), Monthly pay (last Friday of the month), Training provided
Role Overview: The Production Operative role is to ensure processes are followed within production to produce products in line with production plans, to the highest level of quality while keeping colleagues safe.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow production directions and ensure products are packed using the correct combination and volumes of WIP.
- Maintain the highest level of quality through compliance with relevant Food Safety legislation, standards and requirements.
- Apply ‘Clean As You Go’ policy at all times to maintain hygiene.
- Carry out hourly production checks and report issues immediately to the Area Shift Leader or Area Manager.
- Monitor equipment effectiveness, reporting breakdowns to Engineering where appropriate.
- Promote a people-safe culture, complying with policies and procedures, and reporting any safety issues or plant damage.
- Minimise waste of raw materials, products, packaging, chemicals and water.
- Undertake training and assist with training of other colleagues; act as a buddy for new colleagues.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience in a similar role within manufacturing.
- Good standard of education, strong literacy and numerical skills, able to communicate and report clearly in English.
- Food Hygiene Accreditation – desirable.
