We are looking for a Production Team Leader to join our Chunk Processing team in our Manufacturing site in Crick, Northamptonshire.
IPN is an innovative, well-established, and award-winning pet food manufacturer, employing over 850 people across our 3 UK sites. Our family of brands include Harringtons, Wagg, Barking Heads & Meowing Heads, AATU, Blink, Butchers, Classic Cat and a selection of partner brands that trust us to produce food on their behalf. Our kitchens in Thirsk, Kinmel and Crick produce dry, wet, and baked foods which are enjoyed by dogs and cats all over the world.
Your role as a Team Leader is to guide and oversee the efficient operation of your area whilst supporting your team to achieve their day-to-day objectives and contribute to the overall success of IPN.
On Offer:
- £16.85 per hour plus nights shift allowance of £1.99
- Shift pattern - nights (10pm - 6am) - Monday - Friday
- 40 hours per week average
- Paid monthly
Key Responsibilities:
- Working Safely: Work in a safe manner at all times ensuring the safety of yourself and colleagues. Follow health and safety policies and procedures at all times and raise any health and safety concerns through the appropriate channels.
- Facilitating Teamwork: Creating an environment where team members can collaborate, communicate, and work together toward common goals.
- Team Culture: Meet and greet at the start of the shift and regular updates throughout, praise a job well done, give clear direction on daily tasks/any changes to this.
- Task Assignment: Assigning tasks and responsibilities to team members based on their skills and strengths is essential for achieving goals efficiently
- Daily Management: Monitoring and assessing team performance is a critical accountability. Leaders should provide regular feedback, conduct performance evaluations, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Problem Solving and Decision-Making: address any team, production, quality or safety issues where appropriate and escalate to your line manager when required
- Communication: Effective communication to keep the team informed and engaged, including communicating shift objectives, expectations, progress updates, and any changes in plans
- Quality Assurance: Ensuring that work produced by the team meets quality standards and adheres to relevant processes and guidelines
- Continuous Improvement: Encouraging a culture of continuous improvement by looking for ways to improve processes, productivity and sharing ideas within the team
- Reporting and Documentation: Keeping accurate records, preparing reports, and documenting team activities and achievements
- Support the delivery of/and/or deliver essential training and buddying in the first 12 weeks of employment for site new starters to ensure new colleagues are equipped to succeed in and beyond their probationary period
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience in a same / similar role within Manufacturing
- Experience FMCG is preferred
- Strong supervisory skills
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Effective communication skills
- Experience in continuous improvement
- Food Hygiene Accreditation - desirable.
