We are currently recruiting for a Team Leader for our Fresh Ingredients Kitchen based in our manufacturing facility near Thirsk, North Yorkshire. This is a permanent opportunity, 44 hours per week (rotational days and nights).

Shift Pattern: Week 1: Monday – Friday nights 18:00 to 06:00, Thursday – Saturday days 06:00 to 18:00, Monday – Wednesday days 06:00 to 18:00.

On Offer: £17.46 per hour (including shift allowance) (£39,948 per annum). Hourly pay is paid monthly, last Friday of each month.

The role of a Team Leader is to guide and oversee the efficient operation of your area whilst supporting your team to achieve their day-to-day goals and contribute to the overall success of IPN. You will report and escalate to the Area Shift Leader. Note: There is no public transport to the factory, so you will need your own transport. To be considered, you must live within a 30‑mile radius of YO7 3HE and have your own transport.

Responsibilities:

  • Work safely at all times, ensuring the safety of yourself and colleagues.
  • Create an environment where team members collaborate, communicate, and work together toward common goals.
  • Execute IPN ways of working – meet and greet at the start of the shift, give clear direction on daily tasks, and provide regular updates.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on their skills and strengths.
  • Monitor and assess team performance, provide regular feedback, conduct performance evaluations, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Allocate resources effectively, including budgets and personnel.
  • Address issues and make decisions that impact the team's progress and outcomes.
  • Communicate goals, expectations, progress updates, and any changes in plans or strategies.
  • Ensure that work produced by the team meets quality standards and adheres to relevant processes and guidelines.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, seeking ways to optimise processes, enhance productivity, and promote innovation.
  • Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and document team activities and achievements.

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in food manufacturing or a related industry.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills and experience of managing teams in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control standards.
  • Effective communication skills.
