Production Operative – Wet Packing

We are looking for a Production Operative to join our Wet Packing team at our manufacturing site near Kinmel Bay, North Wales.

On offer

• Operator salary – £14.56 per hour (including shift allowance)
• 42 hours per week
• 24/7 shift pattern – 2 days, 2 nights, 4 days off
• Monthly pay – 24th of each month
• Training provided

Key responsibilities

• Follow production directions and pack using the correct combination and volumes of WIP.
• Maintain the highest level of quality throughout the production process in compliance with Food Safety legislation, standards and requirements.
• Apply the ‘Clean As You Go’ policy at all times to keep the department operating to the highest hygiene standards.
• Carry out hourly production checks and report any issues immediately to the Area Shift Leader or Area Manager.
• Monitor the effectiveness of machinery and equipment and report breakdowns to Engineering.
• Promote a people‑safe culture within the department, reporting safety issues and plant damage via the appropriate procedures.
• Minimise waste of raw materials, products, packaging, chemicals and water while undertaking duties within the department.
• Undertake training and assist with the training of other colleagues. Act as a buddy for new colleagues and provide guidance where necessary.

Skills, experience and qualifications

• Experience in a similar role within manufacturing.
• Good standard of education; demonstrates good literacy and numerical skills and can communicate and report clearly in English.
• Food hygiene accreditation – desirable.
