We\’re looking for a Production and Raw Materials Planning Manager to lead our planning function at our Thirsk Site.

The Role – Production and Raw Materials Planning Manager

As the Production and Raw Materials Planning Manager, you will lead a high-performing team responsible for translating customer and business needs into accurate production schedules, raw material orders, and resource plans. You\’ll ensure we meet demand while optimising stock, cost, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Planning Leadership

Convert sales forecasts into effective production, material, procurement, and labour plans

Lead, coach, and develop the planning team to achieve high performance and engagement

Maintain a safe and supportive working environment across the team

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Commercial and Supply Chain teams to build accurate sales and delivery forecasts

Contribute to Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) forums and transport planning meetings

Liaise directly with customers and suppliers to support joint business planning where required

Budgeting & Process Optimisation

Assist in the construction of budgets and manage spend across the function

Monitor material availability and inventory to ensure continuity of supply

Support service performance and cost efficiency through proactive planning

Broad knowledge of the supply chain gained through prior experience

Strong understanding of sales order processing and distribution planning

Proven success working with a wide range of suppliers and internal stakeholders

Skilled in inventory management and material availability

Experienced in managing budgets and customer service performance

Ability to lead and develop high-performing teams (training and development can be supported)
