We’re looking for an Operational Trainer to help build capability across our manufacturing teams, ensuring colleagues have the skills, knowledge and confidence to perform their roles safely and effectively. The role combines hands-on coaching, competency assessment and training delivery in a busy manufacturing environment.
Key Accountabilities
- Assess colleague capability and competence, providing additional coaching and training where required.
- Work closely with Area Managers and Team Leaders to identify skills gaps and improve operational capability.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of operational training materials, SOPs and safe working practices.
- Deliver refresher training and support colleagues following changes to processes, equipment or working practices.
- Support training requirements arising from new factory installations, trials, NPD and process changes.
- Maintain accurate, audit-ready training records and skills matrices.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training, using observations, assessments and feedback to continually improve standards.
- Regularly audit and validate training and competence standards, taking action where gaps are identified.
What You’ll Need
- Good working knowledge of production and manufacturing processes.
- Hands-on experience coaching, buddying or training people to learn new tasks.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with colleagues and managers at all levels.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and maintaining accurate records.
- Basic working knowledge of Word, Excel, email and PowerPoint.
- Numeracy and literacy to at least Entry Level 2.
- Train the Trainer qualification or equivalent would be beneficial.
- Assessor qualification or equivalent would also be beneficial.
