We are looking for an Area Shift Leader to join our Wet Processing department in our manufacturing site in Kinmel Bay, North Wales.

On Offer:

  • £16.10 per hour plus shift allowance of £2.00
  • 42.9 hours per week - 4 on 4 off shift pattern (2 days shift, 2 night shift then 4 days off)
  • Days (05:45 - 18:00) and nights (17:45 - 06:00)
  • Paid Breaks
  • Monthly pay

The Role of Area Shift Leader

To lead colleagues and manage the consistent application of processes within a given shift to ensure products are prepared/manufactured to the agreed standards and production plans whilst keeping our colleagues safe.

Key Responsibilities of Area Shift Leader

  • Deliver shift productivity and efficiency targets to produce goods in line with the agreed production plan
  • Continuously monitor raw materials/ingredients, all operational processes and the overall production environment to ensure that all activity comply with food safety manufacturing standards
  • Monitor and review labour deployment to ensure that the availability and alignment fits with the production requirements of the department
  • Effectively communicate with the operations team, report progress against plan, highlighting any risks to the achievement of volumes and standards
  • Promote a people safe culture within the department, complying with procedures, accident investigation, corrective actions and completing near miss reporting, promoting a safe working environment
  • Review operational trends within shift. Identify and act on opportunities that can make sustainable improvements in all areas including quality, performance and profit and ultimately delivery of the operational plan
  • Monitor and review team capability, ensuring all colleagues are clearly focused on their key objectives and are developed to maximise their potential

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • A good standard of education; demonstrates good literacy and numerical skills, able to understand, communicate and report clearly in English
  • Experience of managing diverse teams in a complex manufacturing environment
  • Advanced Food Hygiene Accreditation
  • HACCP Level 2 Qualification
  • IOSH Level 2
  • Experience using Microsoft office
