Holme Court School is seeking a dedicated, skilled and compassionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our specialist team from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a committed practitioner to play a central role in supporting high‐quality teaching, personalised learning and the day‐to‐day academic life of our nurturing school community.

Holme Court is a small, warm and inclusive setting for pupils aged 7–16 with specific learning difficulties including dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia, SLCN, SEMH, ASC, ASD and ADHD. We pride ourselves on our personalised curriculum, specialist teaching and strong relationships, ensuring every child is understood, respected and supported to achieve their full potential.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable HLTA with a strong understanding of SEND and a passion for helping neurodiverse learners thrive. You will work closely with teachers, therapists and the wider team to support teaching, learning and pupil progress across the school.

  • Take responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision.
  • Work with identified curriculums and support specific subjects as well as helping with lesson planning.
  • Support extra-curricular activities such as education visits and recording/reporting pupil outcomes.
  • At times, be the lead practitioner in the class delivering whole class teaching without the teacher present.

The school reserves the right to appoint before the advertised deadline should an exceptional candidate be identified. Holme Court Cambridge is totally committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening, as all new staff will be subject to enhanced DBS clearance, identity checks, qualification checks and employment checks to include an exploration of any gaps within employment, two satisfactory references and registration with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
