We are seeking a proactive and strategic HR Business Partner to join us as maternity cover for 12-14 months. This is an incredibly exciting time to be joining our business as we enter a period of growth and change with opportunities to be involved in key projects.
Job Overview:
The HR Business Partner will play a key role in driving operational excellence, both strategically and operationally – ensuring alignment of HR initiatives and functions with business objectives to support growth. As part of a small HR team, leading 2 HR Advisors and working closely with the Head of HR, you will be hands-on and operationally focussed, providing generalist HR support across the business. You will be a key member of the site mid-management team and lead on day-to-day HR activities, partnering closely with all functional leads to enhance team performance and develop people solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Partnering
- Work closely with departmental managers to understand business goals and develop HR strategies that support our wider business objectives.
- Work closely with the L&D Business Partner to support the development of all people, adopting and utilising a talent mapping framework to succession plan throughout the business
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, company policies, and best HR practices through working closely with the Head of HR and wider group HR teams.
- Act as a trusted advisor to managers on HR matters, providing insights and recommendations. Using this to be a true HR business partner with the site management team.
HR Operations
- Manage all site employee relations activity ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, acting as an escalation point whilst delivering feedback and coaching to managers, to identify gaps, risks and learning in cases to ensure continuous improvements are made.
- Oversee recruitment including operational, salaried and management roles. Adopting effective resourcing solutions and hiring strategies. Supporting all areas of the recruitment process to enable managers to make informed hiring decisions.
- Act as a key contact for the site’s temporary labour provider to maintain work relationships, establish key ways of working and drive improvement initiatives to promote temporary to permanent working.
- Collate and manage the ongoing review of HR data relating to KPI’s whilst using this to drive decision making and provide insights to the wider business.
Change and Project Leadership
- Support workforce planning, succession planning, and organisational design and growth initiatives. Be an enabler of change, offering expertise in organisational design and business transformation
- Manage employee engagement initiatives, promoting a positive and inclusive company culture.
- To take the lead in project-managing multiple HR projects across all areas of HR from proposal to implementation and driving change throughout the business
- Lead a team of 2 HR Advisors to ensure a smooth, efficient and effective day to day HR function that supports business needs.
About you:
You are a passionate HR professional with the ability to inspire, influence and drive positive change. You will be naturally curious and have a passion for continuous improvement. You will also have:
- Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or in a similar HR role, preferably within a manufacturing or food production environment.
- Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment legislation, and workforce planning.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the business.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience of HR systems and ability to analyse HR Data to influence the wider teams.
- L7 CIPD qualification (or working towards) preferred although candidates with proven experience will equally be considered
