The Mathematician is responsible for working with other departments, including Games Designers, Producers, and Developers, using cutting edge technology to deliver high quality games across all our markets. The role will be part of the Inspired Games studio, actively working on games for a variety of market sectors, both retail and interactive. Working alongside an experienced team of mathematicians and game designers, the role will have an active daily involvement in designing math models and working with the development teams to verify implementation of maths models. The role requires working with the team to help prioritize tasks and deliver projects. As a member of the team, this role also plays an important part in helping maintain quality throughout all of the materials produced by the maths team. The key requirement is an individual who has good knowledge of casino game maths and casino game products and has real-world experience of applying the knowledge to designing and verifying the maths for casino games.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, finalise and document the maths requirements with mathematicians and game designers.
- Provide completed calculations and simulations as necessary for complex mathematical models.
- Create, manage, and optimise game maths documents to ensure they are synchronized with the game before, during and after development.
- Collaborate with game designers, producers, developers, and other key stakeholders to ensure the original vision of the product is executed under agreed timelines.
- Verify back end implementation of mathematical models on new and existing games.
- Provide the necessary documentation to support game releases through internal and external test houses.
- Compile, analyse and provide feedback/data on competitor and in-house products.
- Help junior team members.
- Seek new improvements to maths delivery process and calculation methods within the team.
Required Skills And Experience
- 2+ years of experience in Games Maths Design and Production.
- Educated to a degree level in a Maths related subject (i.e. Maths, Physics) or equivalent experience.
- Proven ability to write statistical simulations in a programming language.
- Proven ability to use Microsoft Excel at an advanced level.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Good knowledge of casino gaming and its theories and models.
- Knowledge of gaming products.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Deadline-oriented but flexible to the needs of the business.
