We’re looking for a Senior 2D Artist/Animator to help deliver high-quality game artwork and animations for our next generation of slot games. This is a hands-on role for an artist who animates in 2D (Spine/bone-based and frame-by-frame), paints high-quality digital art, and has experience shipping polished mobile or slot game content. You’ll work closely with the Head of Art, Team Lead, designers, engineers, and other artists to bring games, characters, symbols, and features to life, contributing directly to the visual quality and player experience across multiple titles.
Responsibilities:
- Create 2D game assets and translate gameplay and feature specifications into expressive, readable visuals and animations that enhance player experience and game feel while adhering to UX and graphical standards defined by the Design team.
- Create high-quality, production-ready 2D characters, animations and VFX using Spine 2D and After Effects.
- Follow the graphical style and theme to ultimately deliver the creative vision of the Design team.
- Assist and support digital artists in producing polished digital paintings for characters, symbols, backgrounds, UI elements, and marketing assets, providing animation-focused feedback and ensuring assets are suitable for rigging and in-game use.
- Create concept art and participate in the Design process as required.
- Mentor junior artists and animators: give feedback, review rigs/animations, and help grow the team’s skillset.
- Develop an understanding and empathy for games so that production art, UX and animation is “correct first time.”
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a 2D Animator/Artist, preferably in mobile slot gaming.
- Portfolio with a strong reel showing Spine rigs/exports, 2D character animation, VFX, and finished game art (show both raw files and in-game/implemented examples if possible).
- Technical expertise in the tools used to create the production artwork e.g. Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, Spine and VFX.
- Strong traditional animation fundamentals.
- Strong drawing and illustration skills, with a focus on digital painting and good eye for form, colour and layout.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Flexibility to adjust working hours when needed to meet production deadlines.
