Role and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will identify and research target potential clients and play a key role in driving business growth. You will be responsible for engaging with high-level decision-makers within medium to large UK businesses to set up meetings and support our sales consultants throughout the sales process. This role is based in Nelson, Lancashire, and will require at least 3 days per week in the office as part of a hybrid working policy, with two days spent working from home.
- Engage with business leaders through phone, email, and social media to set up meetings.
- Maintain a consistent level of outreach activity to drive leads and opportunities for the sales team - this isn’t boiler room type stuff where we’re expecting hundreds of phone calls every day, more like 30, well-researched, well-prepared contact points.
- Collaborate with the sales team to identify and qualify leads, and provide support throughout the sales process.
- Monitor and track sales activity and results using CRM tools.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in business development.
- Read and comply with the company Health & Safety Policy; taking reasonable care for the Health & Safety of themselves and others; co-operate with managers and other employees in fulfilling our objectives and statutory duties.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements
Essential:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in telesales, business development, lead generation or customer facing sales.
- Proficiency in CRM and other sales and marketing tools.
- Results-driven with a focus on achieving targets.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environment.
Desirable:
- Previous knowledge/experience working within energy, utilities or sustainability sectors.
- Experience using LinkedIn Sales Navigator, CRM prospecting tools or sales intelligence platforms.
