We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Head of Primary & ELS to join us at Khalil Gibran School, Rabat. This position will start in August 2026. We can also consider a sooner start.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership & School Management: Support the Head of School/Principal in the daily leadership of ELS and Primary and act as designated leader when required.
- Teaching, Learning & Quality Assurance: Monitor teaching quality, provide feedback, and support high standards of teaching and learning.
- Curriculum Development: Support curriculum delivery and continuity across ELS and Primary in line with Ministry and international standards.
- Staff Support & Professional Development: Provide guidance, induction, and ongoing professional development for staff.
- Student Welfare & Safeguarding: Ensure a safe, inclusive environment and effective safeguarding and behaviour practices.
- Parent & Community Engagement: Build positive relationships with parents and support clear, professional communication.
- Administration & Compliance: Support timetabling, staffing, compliance, and daily school operations.
- Minimum of 5 years' teaching experience, ideally across Early Years and Primary.
- Previous leadership experience (e.g. coordinator, team leader, or deputy role).
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (Master's desirable).
- Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, TEFL, Early Years Certificate, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of high-quality teaching and the ability to model best practice.
- Data analysis skills, with the ability to use data to set targets and identify areas for improvement.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire others.
- Ability to build strong and effective working relationships.
- Understanding of school finances and financial management.
- Experience in bilingual or international school settings (desirable).
- Knowledge of Moroccan education regulations (desirable).
