We are a highly inclusive school supporting thousands of young people with additional and special educational needs each year. We pride ourselves on providing innovative, personalised learning that meets need through our universal offer and through additional support.

This role is an opportunity to impact the lives of thousands of learners and work at the forefront of education for learners with SEN, not just locally but internationally.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure our universal SEN offer runs effectively and efficiently, with excellent communication to students, families and colleagues about the range of support on offer.
  • Build support for students that ensures we are inclusive by design and responsive to the specific needs of our students, through provision that is both impactful and scalable across growing school.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, managing queries and issues in line with procedures and working cross functionally to ensure other teams have access to SEN expertise.
  • Make efficient use of systems to provide sufficiently detailed and pro-active advice to families and responses to external requests for reports or information.
  • Ensure accurate information is held by the school on all SEN needs.
  • To support the development of efficient and sustainable access arrangement approaches and support their implementation.
  • Liaise with pastoral staff to ensure that SEN students are well supported by all staff and that staff in all other roles are empowered to be adaptive and responsive to parent or student queries.
  • To coordinate training and guidance for staff on areas relating to SEN to ensure students with SEN are clear on all the accessibility features of our setting and can participate in the full school experience.
  • To signpost SEN support and advice pathways to families explicitly so it is straightforward to follow.
  • Always uphold a culture of excellence and inclusion, role modelling a positive and ‘can-do’ attitude to others.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • QTS or equivalent, and other qualifications relevant to the role.
  • A track record of delivering excellent outcomes and experiences for students with special educational needs and an ability to develop a deep understanding of student requirements in King’s InterHigh, and Inspired Online Schools.
  • Experience of working in an SEN setting or significant experience of work with SEN young people and their families.
  • Knowledge of the SEN landscape, regulations, SEND code of practice and deep understanding of core processes such as the graduated approach through assess, plan, do, review, EHCPs, and SEN funding streams.
  • Good knowledge of the current and future online learning landscape, and excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Excellent leadership, and people development skills to achieve excellence for self and others.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection in relation to school systems and processes.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills that showcase a dynamic and supportive stance to all stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail, confidence in handling data, and accuracy in work.
  • Aspiration for the future success and growth of Inspired Online Schools, with an understanding of how operational efficiency will contribute to this.
  • Excellent knowledge of school systems and processes and a high degree of technical competence in running school systems.

Inspired Education Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff, volunteers and other third parties to share this commitment.
