The Role:
We are delighted to welcome applications from outstanding, dynamic and suitably experienced individuals for the role of Part-Time Teacher of French and Spanish, to be in post ready for the start of the next academic year in September 2026. This is a superb opportunity for the right candidate to leverage their experience as a French and Spanish specialist in a high-performing school environment to help establish world-class Modern Languages provision at Wetherby Pembridge.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teaching approximately a 50% timetable allocation, split between French and Spanish.
- Planning, preparing and delivering excellent lessons, including working with the Head of Modern Languages and the SENDCo to ensure that Modern Languages teaching at Wetherby Pembridge makes appropriate provision for candidates with additional needs.
- Contributing to super-curricular provision within Modern Languages, and helping to foster a culture in which broad and regular super-curricular engagement is a routine aspect of student life.
- Assisting as required, in liaison with the Head of Modern Languages and the Admissions Department, with the development and marking of assessment papers for candidates for entry to the school via the standard entry route and via Scholarship.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- PGCE, QTS or equivalent with strong academic credentials, including a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university, and the right to work in the UK.
- Significant experience of delivering outstanding French and Spanish provision in a high-performing school environment.
- The ability to teach at least one of French and Spanish to A Level.
- The resilience, drive, strength of character and sense of both humour and perspective to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding and ambitious environment.
