Chepstow House School is an established 3 form entry, Coed Prep with a nursery attached and outstanding facilities within the Notting Hill Gate area. It is a growing school offering opportunities for staff development and career progression. Chepstow House School is seeking to appoint a Full-time Learning Support Assistant in May 2025. The Learning Support Assistant will work closely with the pupils, Nursery staff, and SENDCo.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure that the child has opportunities to develop their skills as an independent learner.
  • Facilitate between school and outside agencies working with the child, ensuring there is effective communication and continuity in approach.
  • Follow the guide of the class teacher to provide a safe and supportive environment for the supported child to learn both individually and in small groups.
  • Collaborate with the teacher to create an individual learning plan that provides specific, short-term achievable targets for priority areas of learning.
  • Provide kinaesthetic and engaging activities at the child’s level to progress learning.
  • Liaise with multi-disciplinary teams and implement programmes provided by external therapists.
  • Liaise with the teacher over the needs for the next day for the support child through the evaluation of that day.
  • Ensure that all children are safe in the nursery/playground and never unsupervised, and that they do not leave the nursery/playground without prior permission.
  • Ensure that safety measures are met by closing the exterior doors and gates at the end of the session before sending or escorting children in a quiet and organised manner to class.
  • Contribute fully to the extracurricular activities and the life of the nursery.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
  • Have an enhanced DBS and prohibition order clearance.
  • Partake in training on safeguarding, prevent duty and personal welfare.
  • Be aware of safeguarding policies.
