ROLE SUMMARY:

Reddam House Berkshire is a flagship UK school of the successful Reddam House International group. Set in 125 acres of wood and parkland, housed in a magnificent mansion building.

We have 800+ students between the ages of 3 months and 18 years are registered here (day students and boarders from age 11+). Children are recognised as individuals with unique skills to celebrate and given tailored support and guidance at each stage of their school career. Our structure of Early Learning School, Junior School, Middle School and Senior School means that every year group works with professionals who specialize and enjoy working with the students in their care.

We are seeking to appoint committed and dynamicEarly Years Assistants who will be working with children aged 3 months to 4 years providing care, play activities and supporting the EYFS assessment.

Our Early Learning School operates 52 weeks of the year and we can offer employment for the 52 weeks, 5 days, 8am to 5pm

The purpose of this role is to assist on the delivery of educational programmes to children to that support their development and learning through a) effective planning that identified the intent of these programmes and b) successful implementation strategies that demonstrate excellent quality teaching. To design and deliver a range of learning opportunities that can have impact on children’s progress and shape their dispositions and attitudes towards learning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To assist with the planning of the curriculum by providing safe, creative and appropriate educational opportunities for all children within an inclusive environment, preparing activities, organising programmes and arranging equipment
  • To ensure that activities are carried out in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with statutory responsibilities, and to advise the room leader of any concerns over children, equipment etc.
  • To follow all school policies, including those regarding safeguarding and confidentiality
  • To contribute to the school’s highest standards of physical and emotional care, health and safety, and personal and food hygiene at all times
  • Working creatively with children within the EY framework, as instructed by the room leader
  • To be involved in positive interactions with children by supporting or providing stimulating activities that respond to their interests and developmental needs
  • Ensuring all children have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop
  • Working with range of people including school staff, visiting professionals and agencies, parents, children and families,
  • Work requires bending, kneeling and crouching for periods of time and may also involve lifting or holding children during planned activities, and changing nappies/toileting duties.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • The successful post holder must hold level 2qualification in Early Years Education and have at least 3 years of experience of working with young children, particularly 2–5-year-olds.
  • Experience of working with children and families, identifying support for developing children’ learning
  • Experience of working as part of a team.
  • Experience of teaching and delivering planned learning experiences
