Chepstow House School is an established 3 form entry, Co-ed Prep with a nursery attached and outstanding facilities within the Notting Hill Gate area. It is a growing school offering opportunities for staff development and career progression. The school aims to provide a broad and balanced curriculum that enables each child to achieve their full potential in a happy and caring environment. Chepstow House aims to discover the best in every child and challenge them to go beyond their expectations.
Chepstow is looking for a full time Learning Support Assistant to start as soon as possible. Please note that this is a 1 Year Fixed Term contract. Working hours are from 8.30 to 3.30 pm, 5 days a week.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Facilitate communication and shared play but with awareness of the other children in the group.
- Ensure that the child has opportunities to develop their skills as an independent learner.
- Facilitate between school and outside agencies working with the child, ensuring there is effective communication and continuity in approach.
- Liaise with multi-disciplinary teams and implement programmes provided by external therapists.
- Supervise the child when on the street, trips out or in an unfamiliar environment but with awareness of the other children in the group.
- Form good relationships with not only the class teacher but all members of staff.
- Ensuring that safety measures are met by closing the exterior doors and gates at the end of the session before sending or escorting children in a quiet and organised manner to class.
- Being constantly aware of the children and not being distracted by other activities which could lead to negligence.
- To contribute fully to the extra curricular activities and life of the school.
- Have an enhanced DBS and prohibition order clearance.
- Be aware of and follow the safeguarding, Prevent Duty, anti-bullying and behaviour and discipline policies of the school.
