ROLE SUMMARY: King’s College School, Cascais, part of the prestigious Inspired Education Group, is a leading international school in the Lisbon area. We offer a global education through the Cambridge International curriculum up to Year 10, supported by a bilingual Portuguese–English program up to Year 5. Our commitment to academic excellence and holistic development prepares students for success in top universities worldwide. We are seeking a passionate and well‑qualified Art Teacher (Primary) to join our school on a short‑term cover basis starting in January for the half‑term, due to long‑term sickness. The ideal candidate will deliver engaging, high‑quality lessons that foster creativity, visual literacy, and a love of the arts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver inspiring and interactive Art lessons for primary‑aged students that support creativity and skill development.
- Plan and implement high‑quality schemes of work aligned with the school’s curriculum.
- Assess, track, and report on student progress, ensuring strong artistic development.
- Create a supportive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
- Contribute to pastoral duties and the holistic well‑being of students.
- Use ICT and other resources effectively to enhance teaching, learning, and assessment.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to promote best practice and consistency.
- Participate in co‑curricular activities, clubs, and school events as part of community life.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- A recognised teaching qualification (BEd, PGCE, or equivalent) and a degree in Art, Design, or a relevant field.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for teaching Art.
- Strong classroom practice and the ability to engage and inspire young learners.
- Outstanding organisational and planning skills.
- A positive, flexible attitude and openness to innovation and development.
- Experience teaching in international schools or familiarity with the Cambridge Primary curriculum (highly desirable).
