ROLE SUMMARY:
Job Title: Leader of Learning (Teacher) – Humanities
Company: Academy21, part of Inspired Online Schools
Contract: Fixed term from January 2026 ending in June 2026. Start date to be discussed with the candidate at interview.
Working Hours: Part time and Full time FTE (including a blend of part and full time)
Location: Remotely from home (UK)
Salary: £34,500 – £43,350 per annum (pro-rata) depending on experience and qualifications

As part of our strategy to continue to grow and support more students across the England and Wales, we are advertising for a talented and dedicated teacher of Humanities to join our online school!
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan for and teach a range of classes to ensure student engagement and progress.
- Safeguard the welfare of students, including following defined safeguarding processes.
- Inspire, motivate and provide purposeful subject knowledge for students within the school
- Be up to date on current research and emerging pedagogy through active engagement in professional development.
- Teach and assess students regularly, using timely and adaptive methods as well as the range of teaching tools provided.
- Take a leading role in maintaining a positive and inspirational learning climate in their classroom and the department, and where appropriate, integrate your subject learning across the curriculum.
- Support the development of priorities for improvement and the self-evaluation of the school’s effectiveness.
- Assist in maintaining and developing a high-quality school environment and profile and act as a role model by their professional conduct and disposition
- Provide guidance and advice to students on educational, wellbeing and safeguarding matters.
- Provide or contribute to assessments, reports and references relating to students in a timely manner.
- Participate in meetings and staff CPD opportunities.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Teaching qualification (PGCE with QTS)
- Excellent subject knowledge
- Awareness of how to motivate students who may be highly anxious or whose circumstances may be challenging
- Knowledge of correct and up to date safeguarding procedures and regulations
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Ability to work well in independently and within a team
- Change and business improvement focused
- Able to work effectively in dynamic and changing environments
- Experience working in the primary, secondary or college sector
- Experience working in state or independent school sector
- Experience creating resources and the ability to review and enhance our current course delivery
- Computer Literate with the ability to teach online using technology applications
