Salary: £38,000 per annum

Weekly Hours: 37 hours (Monday – Friday)

Role Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Interim Student Development Manager to join our Clients Student Services team at campuses located in Cambridge and Huntingdon. This pivotal role will involve planning, managing, and implementing the college’s personal development programmes for students, adult learners, and apprentices. The successful candidate will also manage key teams within student development and support, ensuring excellent services for all stakeholders and contributing to successful student progression and post-college outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the teams responsible for student personal development, pastoral support, enrichment, and learning resources.
  • Provide line management for the following teams:
  • PD Coach team
  • Learning Resource Centre (LRC) team
  • Gym Supervisor
  • Pastoral Support Co-Ordinator
  • Conduct 1:1s, appraisals, performance reviews, probation reviews, and manage holiday and sickness reporting for team members.
  • Ensure effective service delivery that leads to successful student outcomes and progression to post-college destinations.
  • Plan, manage, and implement the centrally devised personal development programme for students, adult learners, and apprentices.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of materials for tutors and teachers, ensuring relevance and quality.
  • Coordinate student voice programmes and enrichment activities that align with national and local priorities.
  • Motivate and inspire students by delivering impactful personal development activities.
  • Develop and manage student enrichment events that foster a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Promote and lead initiatives that enhance student wellbeing and progression.
  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Student Services to report on student development progress.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of student services and support systems.
  • Required Qualifications & Experience:

    • A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
    • Minimum Level 2 qualification in English and Maths.
    • A relevant Level 3 qualification or substantial supervisory experience in a related field.
    • Proven experience in managing personal development programmes within an educational or youth service setting.
    • Successful track record in leading and managing teams.
    • Experience in developing and delivering training programmes and coordinating student enrichment activities.
    • Ability to work with young people, motivating and inspiring them to succeed.

    Additional Requirements:

    • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between campuses located in Cambridge and Huntingdon.
    • Strong communication and organizational skills.
    • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
