Assemble, install, maintain and repair various mechanical components to create functioning equipment. Install plant and equipment/steelwork to drawings provided. Travel to both UK and international customer sites. Follow instructions and tasks set by superiors. Report all non-conformances to superiors. Construct and assemble mechanical equipment using components bought in and made in-house. Carry out maintenance activities on mechanical equipment both in the workshop and on customer sites. Work in a safe manner following company and customer health, safety and quality procedures. Understand and work to mechanical system blueprints. Maintain productivity by working effectively and safely. Ensure high standards and quality of work are maintained. Report daily activities. Ensure equipment is maintained and not misused. Report damages or breakages. Inspect and measure completed work. Organise equipment and plant for assigned tasks. Manage own performance to meet role requirements. Maintain excellent relationships with colleagues and customers. Demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and act as a positive role model. Maintain a smart appearance and act in a professional manner at all times when representing the company.
Requirements
- Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
- Willingness to visit customer sites globally, as required (essential).
- Willingness to learn.
- Ability to work in a small team in a fast-paced environment.
- Competent in bench fitting techniques.
- Competent in the use of hand tools.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
