Inspire Resourcing are recruiting a Parts Manager for our client based in Chesterfield.

The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of spare parts procurement, stock management, distribution, customer support, pricing, and team development, ensuring customers receive a first-class service while supporting the continued growth of the aftermarket division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the procurement and supply of spare parts from approved suppliers.
  • Maintain optimal stock levels to support customer demand and service requirements.
  • Monitor inventory performance and implement strategies to minimise stock shortages and excess inventory.
  • Identify and manage obsolete stock while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Deliver a high level of customer support and technical assistance.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring excellent service and repeat business.
  • Drive parts sales growth through proactive account management and customer engagement.
  • Handle customer enquiries, quotations, returns, and order-related issues efficiently.
  • Oversee the distribution and delivery of spare parts to customers.
  • Ensure efficient logistics processes are in place to support service levels and customer expectations.
  • Work closely with suppliers and internal teams to resolve delivery issues and improve performance.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop the Parts team.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and support employee development.
  • Establish clear objectives and monitor departmental performance against agreed KPIs.
  • Monitor departmental performance and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Produce regular reports covering inventory, sales, customer activity, and operational performance.
  • Manage parts pricing and promotional activity to support business objectives.
  • Support the development and growth of the aftermarket business.
  • Work closely with Sales, Service, Supply Chain, and Operations teams.
  • Support process improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to increase efficiency and profitability.
  • Contribute to strategic projects and wider business objectives.

Requirements

Previous experience within a Parts Manager, Parts Supervisor, Aftersales Manager, or similar role.

Strong background in spare parts, aftermarket operations, inventory management, or technical product support.

Proven leadership and team management experience.

Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.

Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.

Commercial awareness with a focus on sales growth and customer retention.

Good IT skills and experience using business systems and Microsoft Office.

Experience within construction machinery, heavy plant, agricultural equipment, commercial vehicles, industrial engineering, or a related sector.

Understanding of mechanical components and equipment maintenance requirements.

Experience with ERP or CRM systems such as SAP, Salesforce, or similar platforms.

Knowledge of inventory optimisation and aftermarket sales strategies.

Strong leadership and coaching skills.

Customer-focused and commercially minded.

Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.

Proactive and results-driven approach.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities
