A well-established and growing engineering and fabrication business in the Chesterfield area is looking to recruit an experienced Metalwork Fabricator to join its skilled workshop team. The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and finishing a range of metal products to a high standard, ensuring all work meets quality and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and fabrication plans
  • Measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling metal components
  • MIG welding to a high standard (TIG experience beneficial)
  • Working with mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium
  • Using fabrication machinery and hand tools safely and effectively
  • Carrying out quality inspections and ensuring work meets specifications
  • Maintaining a clean and organised working environment
  • Following all health & safety procedures
  • Assisting with installation work when required
  • Working closely with colleagues and production teams to meet deadlines

Requirements

Essential

  • Previous experience as a Metalwork Fabricator or Welder Fabricator
  • Strong MIG welding experience
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience using fabrication equipment and hand tools
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good understanding of workplace health & safety
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Full right to work in the UK

Desirable

  • TIG welding experience
  • Relevant welding/fabrication qualifications
  • CSCS card
  • Forklift licence
  • Experience within structural steelwork or bespoke fabrication
  • Full UK driving licence
