Overview

Join Our Team as a Mental Health Support Worker (Nights).

If you are compassionate, calm under pressure and passionate about mental health, work with adults who need long-term 24-hour mental health support.

You will help create a safe, reassuring and restful environment, supporting residents with dignity and respect while promoting healthy sleep routines, independence and wellbeing.

You will respond to residents' needs, manage risks, complete accurate records and handovers, and ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and service standards are maintained at all times.

Working both independently and as part of a wider team, you will contribute to residents’ recovery journeys while helping to keep the service running smoothly.

Responsibilities

  • Support residents overnight to maintain safety, comfort and dignity.
  • Perform regular welfare checks and respond to residents’ needs.
  • Support with healthy sleep routines, activities of daily living and personal care as required.
  • Monitor and respond to risks, escalate safeguarding concerns as appropriate.
  • Record accurate information and provide clear handovers to the day team.
  • Support medication administration in line with policy and training.
  • Work as part of the night shift team to maintain a calm, safe environment.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding responsibilities, including identifying, responding to, and escalating concerns.
  • Experience of working with people with complex mental health needs
  • Experience of interagency working and understanding of the Care Programme Approach (CPA)
