About the Role
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will support students with SEND, including those with EHCPs, ADHD, and ASD. You’ll assist teachers with personalised learning plans, provide one-to-one and small group support, and help students develop confidence, independence, and resilience. You’ll also play a key role in promoting positive behaviour strategies and emotional regulation, working alongside a compassionate team of educators and therapists to ensure every child thrives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support SEND students in class, during outdoor activities, and in 1:1 or small group settings
- Assist teachers with lesson preparation, interventions, and behaviour management
- Promote positive emotional and social development in students
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students to create a safe and supportive environment
- Record student progress and communicate regularly with parents, carers, and colleagues
- Collaborate with therapists, teachers, and specialists to deliver consistent care and personalised support
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Teaching Assistant in a SEND or SEMH setting
- Strong skills in English and Maths
- Experience supporting children with SEMH or behavioural needs
