Inspire EHC is working in partnership with a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in King’s Lynn that supports children and young people with a wide range of emotional, behavioural, and mental health needs. The school offers a nurturing, therapeutic, and trauma-informed environment where pupils receive personalised support to help them grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
Pupils may present with:
- Anxiety or school-related stress
- Low self-esteem or low confidence
- Attachment or trauma-related needs
- Emotional dysregulation
- Challenging or dysregulated behaviour
- Difficulties with social communication
- ADHD/ADD
- Behaviour linked to past adverse experiences
The Role
We are seeking a caring, resilient, and committed Teaching Assistant to join the school’s dedicated SEMH team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with mainstream, SEMH, or SEND experience who is passionate about supporting pupils with complex emotional needs and helping them develop positive, trusting relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with SEMH needs
- Use trauma-informed and de-escalation strategies to support behaviour
- Support pupils to develop emotional regulation, communication, and social skills
- Assist teachers with delivering personalised learning programmes and structured routines
- Help maintain a safe, calm, and supportive classroom environment
- Build strong and trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families
About You
- Experience working with children or young people (school, youth work, care, or community settings)
- Patient, empathetic, and emotionally resilient
- Confident supporting pupils with challenging behaviour or complex emotional needs
- Full UK driving licence required
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
