About the role

Your responsibilities as an SEMH Teaching Assistant
- Support students with SEMH needs and additional challenges both academically and emotionally
- Build positive and trusting relationships to help young people regulate emotions and feel safe
- Assist teachers with personalised lesson plans and interventions
- Promote positive behaviour strategies and help reduce the need for physical interventions
- Work with therapists, teachers and specialists to ensure every child receives consistent, thoughtful care
What we’re looking for
- A recent degree in Psychology, Education, Social Sciences or a related field
- A genuine interest in working with children who experience emotional or behavioural challenges
- Patience, resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Experience working or volunteering with children is a bonus but not essential
- A commitment to learning, reflection and professional growth
