We are seeking an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant with a proven track record of supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs. You will join a supportive, inclusive school that delivers personalised learning, enabling each student to develop confidence, independence, and engagement in their education.
Your responsibilities as an SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Support students with SEMH needs and additional challenges both academically and emotionally
- Build positive and trusting relationships to help young people regulate emotions and feel safe
- Assist teachers with personalised lesson plans and interventions
- Promote positive behaviour strategies and help reduce the need for physical interventions
- Work with therapists, teachers and specialists to ensure every child receives consistent, thoughtful care
What we re looking for:
- Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within SEMH or SEND settings
- Strong understanding of supporting children with social, emotional and behavioural needs
- Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with staff, parents and external professionals
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice
