Young people in Alternative Provisions deserve adults who see beyond behaviour and believe in potential. If that sounds like you, this SEN TA role could be a brilliant fit.

You will be supporting pupils with a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Many have experienced disrupted education, trauma, or a loss of trust in school. Your role is to help rebuild that trust and reintroduce them to learning in a way that feels safe and achievable.

SEN TA responsibilities:
  • Building safe, consistent relationships with pupils
  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
  • Delivering 1:1 and small-group interventions
  • Helping pupils re-engage with learning at a pace that works for them
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral teams
  • Being a calm, steady presence on the tough days and a champion on the good ones

What we are looking for:

  • Resilience, empathy, and patience
  • Experience supporting young people with SEMH, trauma, or challenging behaviour (education, youth work, care, sports coaching, mentoring, etc.)
  • A genuine passion for helping pupils
  • The ability to stay calm, consistent, and solution-focused
  • A willingness to learn and be part of a supportive team
  • Commutable to Northampton, Northamptonshire

Why work with Inspire EHC:

You will benefit from:

  • A dedicated specialist consultant who understands SEMH and AP environments

  • Competitive pay reflective of your experience
  • Roles that match your values, strengths, and long-term goals
