Position: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Hours: Full‑time, Monday to Friday
Salary: £dependent on experience
Contract: Temp to Perm, Term‑Time Only
Key Responsibilities as a SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Provide tailored support for students with SEMH needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning.
- Assist in delivering creative and engaging lessons, ensuring every pupil feels included and supported.
- Implement behaviour strategies and promote positive interactions.
- Work 1:1 and in small groups to support students with additional challenges such as dyslexia and ADHD.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and professionals to develop personalised support plans.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour.
SEMH Teaching Assistant Skills & Requirements:
- A passion for working with children with SEMH needs and additional challenges such as Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), ADHD and dyslexia.
- Resilience, patience, and a positive outlook.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to remain calm and think creatively when faced with challenging behaviour.
- A good sense of humour and the ability to make learning fun!
- Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
- Ability to commute to Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.
