We’re looking for a skilled and committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) / Senior SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a fantastic SEN school near Guildford, Surrey. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to take a more proactive role in supporting teaching, learning and student wellbeing, helping young people achieve their full potential within a nurturing, therapeutic environment.
Position Details:
- Location: Near Guildford, Surrey
- Role: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (SEN)
- Hours: Monday–Thursday: 08:30–16:00, Friday: 08:30–15:45
- Salary: £100 - £130 per day (depending on experience)
- Contract: Long-term / Temp-to-Perm
- Own transport required
The Role – you will:
- Take a lead role in supporting students with complex SEN and mental health needs, providing consistency, structure and emotional regulation during challenging moments.
- Work closely with teachers and the wider multidisciplinary team to support planning, delivery and adaptation of learning activities.
- Contribute to behaviour support strategies, risk management and safeguarding practices to ensure student wellbeing is always prioritised.
- Provide targeted academic, emotional and pastoral support to individuals and small groups.
- Support students across a range of educational stages, helping them progress academically, socially and emotionally.
- Act as a positive role model, promoting independence, resilience and confidence in young people.
