Position Details:

  • Location: King's Lynn, Norfolk
  • Salary: £13.80 - £15 per hour (Inclusive of 12.07% Holiday Pay)
  • Hours: Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 15.30, Temp to Perm

Key Responsibilities of the Graduate Teaching Assistant:

  • Support students with SEMH needs in their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Assist the classroom teacher in implementing tailored learning plans.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students to help them overcome barriers to learning.
  • Promote a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour using positive reinforcement strategies.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each student.

Requirements for the Graduate Teaching Assistant Role:

  • A relevant degree or qualification in education, psychology, or a related field.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with SEMH needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience in challenging situations.
  • Experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, or ability to commute to near King's Lynn, Norfolk.
