We are currently supporting a specialist SEN school near Ely, Cambridgeshire that works with pupils who have Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and/or Autism. All pupils have EHCPs and require highly personalised, structured, and compassionate teaching. We are seeking an experienced SEN Teacher to join the school and provide PPA cover across a range of classes. This role is ideal for a teacher who is confident delivering highly differentiated lessons and supporting pupils working well below age-related expectations.

SEN Teacher role responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, structured lessons across EYFS to KS4
  • Provide PPA cover across multiple classes and learning pathways
  • Adapt teaching to meet the needs of pupils with Autism and learning difficulties
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals
  • Create a safe, calm, and nurturing learning environment

The school offers three learning pathways – Formal, Semi-Formal, and Sensory – allowing teaching to be tailored to each pupil's individual learning profile. Pupils present with a wide range of needs, and the successful SEN Teacher will bring creativity, patience, and a child-centred approach to their teaching practice.

Requirements:

  • Strong SEN teaching experience across EYFS to KS4
  • Confidence planning and delivering highly differentiated lessons
  • Good understanding of sensory, communication-based, and inclusive teaching approaches
  • A calm, resilient, and proactive mindset
