The school supports young people aged 11 - 16 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and associated needs, using a nurture-based approach focused on emotional development and engagement.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and qualified Nurture Teacher or SEN Teacher seeking a rewarding teaching role in North Surrey or within commuting distance of Leatherhead. You will play a key role in delivering a personalised and engaging curriculum, while creating a calm and structured classroom environment where pupils can build confidence and re-engage with learning.
What you’ll be doing:
- Planning and delivering adapted, therapeutic and engaging lessons
- Supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH)
- Creating a nurturing classroom environment where pupils feel safe and understood
- Monitoring progress and contributing to EHCP reviews and individual learning plans
- Working collaboratively with families, therapists and a multi-disciplinary team
- Using a low-arousal, positive approach to behaviour support
What we’re looking for:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience working with SEN, ASC or SEMH pupils
- A nurturing, calm and patient approach
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
