About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary SEN Teacher to join a specialist school supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and associated needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference, working in a nurturing environment with small class sizes and a strong focus on personalised learning. You will support pupils academically, socially, and emotionally, helping them build confidence, independence, and essential life skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching in line with Teachers’ Standards
- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs
- Support pupils with autism, SEMH needs, and learning difficulties
- Develop pupils’ communication, social, and emotional skills
- Create a safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
- Manage behaviour using positive strategies
- Monitor progress using SEN frameworks such as P Levels and the National Curriculum
- Support pupils during breaktimes and transitions
- Build strong relationships with families and carers
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience in a primary or SEN setting
- Strong knowledge of autism and special educational needs
- Experience supporting pupils with learning disabilities or SEMH
- Understanding of EHCPs and personalised learning
- Confident behaviour management skills
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
