As our Work Placement Coach, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our learners gain valuable work experience that directly supports their learning objectives and contributes to the College\’s overall success. You will be a proactive and organised individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships with both internal teams and external employers.
The main duties and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following areas:
Support with the liaison with the curriculum teams to plan for placement requirements for the academic year.
Promote work experience to learners through the delivery of tutorials.
Enhance learner’s employability skills and preparation for work experience through engagement in workshops and learning platforms.
Implement a selection and matching process for learners to suitable placements, to include ascertaining a learner’s ability, skill set, transport availability, financial support requirements and career path, providing high quality information, advice and guidance.
Ascertain any learning/health requirements of students prior to placement, developing a learner profile to ensure employers can meet the learners needs whilst on placement.
Coordinate the completion of learner profiles with curriculum colleagues prior to a placement.
Establish learners\’ leads for any work placement opportunities and work establish links with employers.
Conduct employer related health & safety checks in accordance with college policy, ensuring that employers have all satisfactory checks in place prior to the commencement of a placement. This includes attendance of employer site visits: use of personal vehicles may be required.
Build and manage external relationships involving employers, partners and the wider business community increasing knowledge and potential referral opportunities.
Lead on proactively self-generating employers leads for work placements from new and dormant employers.
